Today is the first day of Fall. Elsewhere in the country, this would mean the air is crisper, the leaves are turning gold, and people are donning their sweaters. But not in the Bay Area. This is Leather Week and nothing encapsulates the last full week of September like sweaty leather lovers having their way with one another. In homage, get out your chaps or corsets and get a little kinky this week. But if that's not your scene, you still have plenty of options. "Always on my Mind" has got to be one of the best songs of all time. Do you disagree? Decide for yourself when the Pet Shop Boys play The Warfield. Insanely popular, the Barback Olympics returns for another night of bar-related competition that only a drinker could love. Also on Wednesday, Vessel along with Trakademics hosts the MP3 Battle, where teams from all over the city will compete to see who has the best musical taste. On Thursday, you scream, I scream and we all scream for ice cream at the World's Largest Ice Cream Social at all Bay Area Cold Stone Creameries; make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and get a treat! On Saturday wake up bright and early for the Paddleboard Championships at Aquatic Park where top competitors from around the world will brave our shark-infested frigid waters. Another water race not to be missed is the SF International Dragon Boat Festival at Treasure Island. On Sunday, leather daddies and dominatrix's take over SoMa for California's third largest spectator event, the Folsom Street Fair. Get ready to be spanked - it's going to be a great week!
