Did you get extra sleep with the time change last weekend or were you relishing in the extra hour before last call with the rest of the Halloween revelers? Hopefully your energy is up because there are plenty of options to wile away the increased hours of darkness that come with daylight savings. Start tonight at Great American Music Hall with Atlas Sound and Broadcast, the solo project from Deerhunter's Bradford Cox. On Thursday, bounce, rock, and skate over to Mighty and get down to Rollerdisco. If you don't have your own set of skates, they've got you covered with rentals. Segue from the disco days of the 70s and celebrate the 80s on Friday with City in Pink at 111 Minna, a tribute to filmmaker John Hughes with six DJs in two rooms. The 80s are still alive and well Saturday at Great American Music Hall with local punk-rock icon Jello Biafra and the final night of Incest-A-Thon, a celebration of the 30th anniversary of his Alternative Tentacles record label. That show will be loud, but not without competition, as Boys Noize takes the stage across town for a set at Mighty. Wake up early on Sunday and rub shoulders with Bay Area audiophiles searching for musical gems at the KUSF Rock 'N' Swap. Who needs extra sleep, anyway?

Fresh Mode, The Clearing, and 111 Minna bring you the event of the year...well, yesteryear. It began innocently enough. Sam played bass, John played keyboards. They met in art school, where they played any kind of music they could get there hands on--from punk to country to jazz to metal.
