Five Place to Grab Football Food, Drinks

Can’t make it to the 49ers playoff game on Sunday? Just staying at home with friends rather than doing the sports bar scene? Here’s a list of some spots to grab the perfect food and drinks for that playoff viewing party.

Fatted Calf: This Hayes Valley charcuterie has everything needed for a football feast: wonderful gourmet sausages, salumi and other meats. The shop always has weekly specials as well in case plans call for a more gourmet feast (think duck, game hens, rib roast).  Located at 320 Fell Street.

4505 Meats: Another place for great sausages and those damn addicting bags of Chicarrones. There are also burger boxes that can be picked up at the Thursday/Saturday Farmers Market that include patties, buns, cheese and fixings.  Located at the Ferry Building Farmers’ Market Thursdays and Saturdays.

Wing Wings: The Lower Haight restaurant offers great party trays that are the perfect fit for a big party. You can order 50 or 100 wings, sandwiches or dips and chips and there are plenty of options to choose from.  Located at 422 Haight Street.

Perbacco: Probably not on the list of many folks but Perbacco Chef Staffan Terje is amazing when it comes to salumi plates. The Financial District restaurant offers platters for your party needs with the proper condiments to boot.  Located at 230 California Street.

City Beer Store: With all this wonderful food, there needs to be something to wash it all down. That’s where City Beer Store comes in. There is a wonderfully diverse selection of brews that you can buy by the bottle, 6 or 12 pack or even special order kegs.  Located at 1168 Folsom Street.
