Fall is often touted as the best time of year to be in San Francisco, and it's easy to see why, considering the phenomenal lineup of events this week. Welcome the change of seasons Wednesday with Local Natives at the Fillmore, and get on the good foot with Big Boy, one half of Outkast, and the man behind one of the best rap releases of the year. The XX is back in the Bay Area this week for a sold out show at the Fox, but if you can't get your hands on a ticket, Band of Horses and Mary Wilson of the Supremes are also solid options. Food and drink? You can't go wrong with Cake Moda's Cupcake Wars and Oktobersfest By the Bay, and the arts are alive with Public Works Opening Party, Artcar Fest, and Masterpieces of Post-Impressionism at the de Young Museum. To top it off - with a leather-clad cherry - the Folsom Street Fair returns Sunday. Whip it good!

Question of the Week: Where did Band of Horses bassist Bill Reynolds buy his cowboy hat? Find the answer in this week's guide and email your response to [email protected] for a chance to win tickets to Dirty Projectors at the Fillmore!
