In the tradition of past winning Summertime shows in August, the Lark Theater present Hallelujah – a rousing night of gospel music, featuring an outstanding ensemble of acclaimed singers and musicians guaranteed to lift your spirits and set your toes a-tapping!
Following intermission, where guests will enjoy a dessert and wine reception sponsored by Perry’s on Magnolia, we move right into the Oscar-winning musical Dreamgirls on the big screen, a loosely-based storytelling of the Supremes, featuring Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson.

The Love Center Reunion Singers under the direction of Rusty Watson. This performance will feature many people who have played with Walter and Edwin Hawkins, the fathers of contemporary Gospel Music. Edwin’s first mega hit, “Oh Happy Day,” remains one of gospel music’s most downloaded songs.
Rusty Watson, Choir Director
Rusty Watson, a native of St. Louis, Mo., was the Minister of Music for Love Center Ministries, founded by the late Bishop Walter L. Hawkins and the Conference Coordinator for The Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Conference, and has been in music ministry for the last 40 years. This performance will feature many members of the Love Center Choir.
Tony Saunders, Bassist
Tony played with The Hawkins Family, Edwin Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins and many of gospels elite while touring with the Hawkins family. Tony has played at Love Center and played behind Shirley Ceaser, Donnie McClurkin, Be Be Winans, The Clark Sisters, The Williams Brothers and The Mighty Clouds of Joy. Tony will be featured on the song "Speak To My Heart."
Patrick Sturgis, Pianist
Patrick has served as Musical Director for Love Center ministries and leads his own trio Brown-Sturgis-Brown. Besides being a great piano player his vocals have landed him jobs everywhere including the last Edwin Hawkins singers group.
Jason Wright, Drummer
Jason is the nephew of Walter and Edwin Hawkins. He has played drums his whole life and with a feel that draws the listener in for more.
Antoin Timmons, Vocalist
Antoin is both a great musician and vocalist. He knows how to get the praise raised to a level no one knew. Antoin has toured with Edwin Hawkins and been a constant in the Love Center choir.
Nona Brown, Vocalist
Nona’s musical journey spans over 30 years working with The Fray, Lenny Williams, Pattie LaBelle, Stephan Jenkins and Mickey Thomas. She has been a guest vocalist and composer on three national recordings of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, a guest vocalist at Oprah Winfrey’s Legends Ball and currently is a group member of gospel music legend Edwin Hawkins and the New Edwin Hawkins Singers.
