The Fog City Singers Present: Singing in the Spotlight

at Devil's Canyon Brewing Company (6:30pm - 10pm)
On Saturday, June 20 we're going beyond the traditional concert hall. From the Devil's Canyon Brewing Company in San Carlos, the Fog City Singers invite you to "Singing In The Spotlight," a brand-new cabaret-style concert event designed to bring you closer to us than ever before. This will be a fun evening of chorus numbers, affiliated small acts, beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), food truck cuisine, a silent auction and a healthy dose of close community and good vibes.

We at Fog City are proud to boast a chorus comprised of strong, individually talented singers, and for "Singing in the Spotlight" we will provide our "Fog Citizens" the platform to showcase their own talents. Within the more relaxed, casual confines of the Devil's Canyon Main Hall you'll be treated to distinguished chapter quartets, contemporary a cappella acts, even instrumental bands and piano-accompanied art songs! It'll be a veritable musical variety act, embedded in barbershop and with a signature Fog City twist.

As for what we are singing as a full chorus, our Fog City repertoire will include encore performances of Spring favorites "Devil May Care" and "Homeward Bound" as well as the classic barbershop chart "Wedding Bells Are Breaking Up That Old Gang of Mine". But perhaps the most notable song in our program is the world premiere of an in-house commission entitled "When the Fog Rolls In To San Francisco/Sanoe." This medley brings together different melodies from different centuries written in different languages! With central themes of cyclical weather patterns and romantic affairs, "When the Fog Rolls In To San Francisco/Sanoe" connects us to both our home town of San Francisco and the beautiful Hawaiian Isles, of which we will be embarking on a week-long tour this October.
