DESCRIPTION
Chuck MacKinnon Sextet is a continuation of the work MacKinnon started in New York City under the name “The Mactet,” with which he recorded a CD of mostly original compositions. In preparation for the Sextet’s upcoming album, Covers and Contrafacts, MacKinnon has decided to showcase his arrangements and remake compositions by famous jazz and pop composers. It is with his recent work that MacKinnon has returned to his acoustic jazz roots with hard-hitting arrangements for a 3-horn front line.
