An Evening with Mills Center for Contemporary Music

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Join us Friday, November 10th, for an evening of music and film.

We welcome internationally renowned musicians from the legendary Mills Center for Contemporary Music, for a rare evening of sound installations and special performances, from 6pm, in various locations throughout the building. Performers include Maggi Payne, John Bischoff, Chris Brown and William Winant, plus James Fei and Fred Frith.

Plus, experience a cinematic translation of 'Lucifer', a 17th century Dutch play on the primal nature of good and evil. On his way from Heaven to Hell, Lucifer passes through the earthly paradise of Mexico. Directed by Gust van den Berghe, the film is shot in revolutionary “Tondoscope,” where a unique circular frame mirrors the iris of the human eye, referencing our own act of viewing and the all-seeing eye of a higher power, as well as creating a kind of otherworldly paradise.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES:

• Live performances with Mills Center for Contemporary Music, 6-8:30 pm in Wilsey Court, Piazzoni Murals Room and Hamon Observation Tower
• 'Lucifer' screening, 6:30 pm in Koret Auditorium
• ‘The Song is Love,' by Lena Wolff, November Artist-in-Residence, in the artist studio
• Chat to community reps, 6-8 pm in the 'Teotihuacan' galleries
• Art making with Linda Janklow of Peopologie
