Oakland’s Bacon and Beer Festival Returns in March

Bacon and beer lovers can gather on Sunday, March 15 to sample creative dishes and fine brew at the Oakland Bacon and Beer Festival, presented as a fundraiser for not-for-profit community organization Oakland Grown.

The festival, back for it’s second year in Oakland after debuting in San Francisco in 2013, will run from 2:30pm to 5:00pm in the Market Building at Jack London Square, where food vendors will serve alluring bacon combinations while local Bay Area beer makers pour craft brews.

General admission tickets (attendees must be 21+) are on sale now for $40 per person. Tickets grant entry to the Bacon and Beer Fest with the ability to sample an unlimited number of bacon offerings and beer.

Oakland Grown works to empower local, independent businesses and encourage the public to divest from the massive corporations that have strangleholds on the economy. Members organizations such as Berkeley’s Bison Brewing helped by growing hops in Oakland community gardens for a limited edition beer that benefited Victory Garden. Artisanal charcuterie Zoe’s Meats also partnered with local schools to create gardens and offer programs geared toward teaching sustainability and healthful eating.
