New Years Eve Guide
We all know the various tried and true traditions of the holidays. But what about the untraditional ones? This year create your own traditions - however unconventional they may be - that encompass the holiday spirit. Beat to the drum of a different drummer boy! Here are some picks for inspiration. Thursday night get creative at the Creative Commons' Birthday Party at 111 Minna Gallery. Be forewarned - these dudes know how to party. Then take part in a special benefit for nextaid at the OM Winterball at Mighty featuring some of the city's hottest DJs. And no one throws it down like the Muppets; seriously, these guys are monsters. Check out the holiday cult favorite, Sonic Muppets, at YBCA. Saturday night one of the most talked about events finally rolls into town - the Storytime Festival at Palace of Fine Arts. With a G-rated and an R-rated version, this dance and circus festival will have you riveted. For something more interactive and decidedly...cheaper, there's Phil Kline's Unsilent Night at Dolores Park. On Sunday go back to basics at the Winter Solstice Celebration at Muir Woods National Park, or celebrate your inner jew at the Hub Hanukkah Party at 111 Minna. And, of course, don't forget to keep track of all the latest news with SF Station's Tweeter feed!
