YG - The JUST RE'D UP Tour

SEE EVENT DETAILS
YG with Doe Boy and DJ Vision.

With his ubiquitous 2010 hit "Toot It and Boot It," rapper YG established himself as one of hip hop's biggest rising talents. Born Keenan Jackson in 1990, YG released his first mixtape at just 18, quickly garnering a large internet following with songs like "She A Model" and "Aim Me" and attracting the attention of Def Jam execs, who signed him to the label in 2009. After being featured on the CTE World mixtape Boss Yo Life Up Gang in 2013, YG announced that his upcoming full-length debut would be produced by rapper Young Jeezy. "My Nigga" was released as the lead single to the album in September of 2013, reaching No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and marking his most successful single to date. In addition to a string of mixtapes released between 2008 and 2013, YG runs his own streetwear label 4Hunnid and his own record label Pu$haz Ink. On tour in 2013 with acts like TYGA and Yo Gotti, YG has earned a reputation among ticket buyers for a stage presence that belies his young age, fueling anticipation for his upcoming live concerts and the 2014 release of his debut full-length My Krazy Life.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2009, YG has projected the voice of the streets into the mainstream and ultimately left his mark as a rapper, actor, entrepreneur, designer, and philanthropist. With over 10 billion global streams, a string of multi-platinum, platinum and gold certifications, and countless accolades, the Compton native's impact cannot be overstated. He's the rare maverick who can stand arm-in-arm with protestors one day, appear on-screen next to an Academy® Award winner the next day, and preside over a fashion runway on another day. He has landed four consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200. Among numerous anthems with social implications, Billboard christened 2016's politically charged "FDT (F*** Donald Trump)" featuring Nipsey Hussle, one of the "Songs That Defined the Decade." In 2020, YG fought back again with the anti-racist "FTP," of which Variety claimed, "If there's a music video that captures the Black Lives Matter demonstrations of June 2020, it's YG's 'FTP'." "FTP" was one of five breakout single + video releases in 2020-2021 from YG's critically acclaimed fifth studio album, My Life 4Hunnid (October 2020).

In October 2022, YG released his sixth studio album, I GOT ISSUES via Def Jam Recordings. The highly anticipated new album includes features from hip-hop heavyweights such as J. Cole, Post Malone, Nas, Roddy Rich and more. I GOT ISSUES is YG's first studio album since My Life 4Hunnid (October 2020). The album debuted at the top of the Rap Albums charts and top 5 on the Billboard 200 albums.

Simultaneously, YG remains a pillar of the community. He donated $100,000 worth of food from his restaurant Fishbone Seafood in honor of Juneteenth. Additionally, he founded the nonprofit 4Hundred Waze. Among various initiatives, the nonprofit provided $10,000 in PPE to Los Angeles families hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic residing in Emergency Crisis Housing. Plus, he built a platform for buzzing artists such as Day Sulan with his 4HUNNID label in partnership with Epic Records. The multi-million dollar brand 4HUNNID comprises a clothing line of the same name owned by YG and with it, he has seamlessly projected the authentic voice of the streets into the mainstream, leaving an indelible mark as a rapper, actor, entrepreneur, designer and philanthropist. 4HUNNID has infiltrated high fashion circles and secured its place in renowned retailers like Zumiez, Fred Segal and Barneys. Over the past two years, YG has focused on the footwear space specifically with his Block Runner low-top sneaker design. Not to mention, the accomplished actor graced the big screen in White Boy Rick with Academy® Award winner Matthew McConaughey.

As YG continues to evolve as an artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, he cements his status as the head of the multi-million dollar brand 4HUNNID, unapologetically championing his community and leaving an enduring impact on the world of music and beyond.
