WORKSHOP | Watercolor and Fashion with Couturiere Colleen Quen

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Couturiere Colleen Quen leads a workshop illustrating how fashion and costume design are integral in creating character. With her extensive knowledge of both fashion and ink wash painting, Colleen explains how to incorporate watercolor painting techniques with fashion illustration silhouettes to create imaginary gowns for characters including Cinderella and Snow White.

Artist Bio:
Exploring a profound, unconscious realm of her imagination, French couturière Colleen Quen utilizes 30 years of fashion design to refine her newfound journey as a watercolor artist. A gradual metamorphosis from haute couture, her paintings are a natural progression and constant meditation of her artistic and spiritual journey.

The ancient disciplines of Tai Qi, Qigong and Guzheng help Quen understand the philosophy of Taoism, which in turn, shapes her inimitable vision. As a disciple of Master Madeleine Fu, she incorporates landscape techniques and organic aspects of nature with vibrant, playful hues to reflect her gratitude and passion for life.

Please note: All ticket sales are final. Valid student ID required on day of workshop for student rates. General Admission is included in the price of the ticket.
