Multi-platinum-sellingWAR, theoriginal street band, has been sharing its timeless music and message of brotherhood and harmony for 5 decades before millions across the globe.
~~~~~~~~
Some of the biggest funk jams of the '70s came from the multi-ethnic, harmonious ensemble, ironically known as War. Most of their biggest hits "Low Rider," "Why Can't We Be Friends" and "Cisco Kid" show off their diverse arsenal, as they blend funk grooves with Latin music, rock, reggae and soul. The group has cycled through a lot of different members over the years. In fact, the original incarnation was led by '60s British Invasion rocker Eric Burdon of the Animals (and yielded the hit "Spill the Wine"). War has been re-popularized since the '90s as hip-hop has grown. They've always been a heavily sampled band, and for good reason--they could really groove.
