Na’s Near and Dear from 2012 is the most recent example of her always colorful and scintillating writing for piano; 2003’s Walking, Walking is a 20-minute long musical essay inspired by the music of the Chilean songwriter Victor Jara. Schultz will play Down By the Riverside and the celebrated Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues from Rzewski’s 1979 North American Ballads and the first Ballade and F minor Fantasie of Chopin.
