Do you know the way to San Jose? Apparently, Jay Z and Kanye West do. Known as "The Throne," the duo is bringing the biggest rap show of the year to HP Pavilion this week. Closer to home, Dinosaur Jr. revisits one of its biggest albums at The Fillmore with Henry Rollins, and funnyman Adam Corolla has some laughs for the audience at the Palace of Fine Arts. A tamer alternative to Santacon, which shutdown Polk Street this past weekend, A Santa Hat Affair takes the holiday fun inside for a dance party. The 90s are alive with an appearance by golden era hip-hop group The Pharcyde and the Club Vogue party, and the Winter Holiday Rock Prom & Auction brings Adam Savage of Mythbusters, Jello Biafra and more to the Rickshaw Stop.

For mercurial L.A. music-maker Will Wiesenfeld, Baths has been a long time coming. The 21-year-old has spent the better part of his days living amidst "pleasant" and "unremarkable" in the suburbs of the San Fernando Valley, so perhaps it's due to a general lack of local inspiration...

Although always as loud as god, it was easy to convince yourself the music of Dinosuar Jr was far more passive than aggressive. This myth exploded in a hail of flaming toads in the spring of 1989, when the band's original trio line-up burst like a ripe sac of pus...
