Cortnee Langlie and Stephen Dukeheart heard each other play at an open mic about a year ago, got to jamming and formed Narrators last summer. Despite the project being so young, the duo has already polished their close two-part harmonies and folk songwriting to turn out some solid covers and originals. One of their covers to check out online: Simon and Garfunkel's "Homeward Bound," which fits their sound perfectly. But the band pushes beyond folk as well, with forays into country, New Wave and the classical-pop influences of indie cabaret. They've got a Wednesday night residency at I Java Cafe, but fans can catch them at Frascati every now and then too. (Stephen Layton)
