"We stick to the archetypes. A literal world isn't interesting. We're trying to put a skin around the symbols and myths that civilization has told itself for 10,000 years. The better the symbol and the more universal the myth, the more people can create a world for themselves from their memories and desires. That's the goal: Give the audience enough raw material to make the world their own." -- Tyler Lyle of The Midnight

The Midnight is a synthwave band consisting of Atlanta-raised singer and songwriter Tyler Lyle and producer Tim McEwan. The pair formed in Los Angeles as a songwriting duo in 2012 and independently released their first EP, Days of Thunder, in 2014. Their debut album Endless Summer followed in 2016, trailed by 2017's Nocturnal EP and 2018's Kids. The Midnight reached new heights in 2020 with their third album, Monsters, which marked the duo's first time charting on the Billboard 200. They also added a new dimension to their live performances by introducing a five-piece band setup.
