THE HOLLOWS, The Bootleg Honeys, Phil Pickens & The Astronauts

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The Hollows

A roots-rock junkyard ensemble of multi-instrumentalists: a freewheeling hootenanny of a band. With no frontman (or six frontmen) everyone sings and swaps roles, creating a diverse and uniquely blended sound. Their debut LP, Belong to the Land (2011) was called "a monster" (KOOK 93.5 FM) and "a melodic, fiery hoedown" (The Deli Magazine). They quickly followed up with a self-titled EP in 2012 ("A prize peach" - My Old Kentucky Blog) and a 2013 live LP, Neverending Show ("A smorgasbord of musical talent" - The Huffington Post). Their next full-length studio LP was produced by John Siket (Phish, Sonic Youth, Dave Matthews Band) and is due out this spring. A high-octane, unpredictable barn-burner: put on yer' dancin' shoes.

The Bootleg Honeys

Since the summer of 2013 The Bootleg Honeys have quickly become one of the Bay Area’s favorite live Americana acts. Their sweet and lively sound features impeccable three part harmony and musicianship, as well as a hefty collection of finely crafted original material that will pull your heartstrings and get your boots stompin’. Paint it Red is their debut full length album featuring 11 original songs, co-produced by The Bootleg Honeys and engineer/drummer Mark Tarlton The album has been enthusiastically embraced by local fans, and KRSH deejays Robin Pressman and Amber have listed Paint in Red on their top 10 albums of 2015.

Phil Pickens & The Astronauts

A southern gentleman by way of Manhattan: he'll take you to the moon (or at least take your heart there). As a boy in Georgia, picked up a used guitar at a garage sale and learned to play southpaw from an old lady named Miss Genie. Grew up and released his solo debut, Sweet Tea Circus, in 2012 and is currently working on a follow-up with producer James Frazee (My Morning Jacket, The Hold Steady, Sharon Van Etten). A folk-rock love-letter where banjos and synths set the mood, bass and drums move the current, and vocals and guitar float just above the surface and up into outerspace. "Relax. Be an Astronaut."
