SUMMER 2017 — Creating Miniature Spaces

SEE EVENT DETAILS
CREATING MINATURE SPACES Amy M. Ho5 sessions >> Tuesdays, July 18-August 156:30–9:30 pm, Studio 10, $230No prerequisite.
Artists explore scale in their work to enhance, abstract, or deepen the connection between the art piece and the viewer. In this course, students will delve into working in miniature. What does it mean to work on an intimate scale? How can the miniature be a catalyst for larger concepts? This class will focus on the use of miniature models and spaces in art. You will experiment working in miniature and create your own diorama or miniature space. Students will be introduced to a variety of artists that used miniature dioramas and spaces in the creation of their work.  Class time will be split between short lectures, critique, and studio time.
