So what is a Snarky Cat anyway? Let's face it, The Snarky Cats is a pretty lame name for a band isn't it? We aren't even that crazy about the name. Well, the band was actually first put together to play some winery shows that another band that George was playing bass for had to cancel. At first the band play pretty much every style from Country to New Wave to Hard Rock to Motown based on the various influences the band members brought to the band. While it was a lot of fun to cover so many styles, it was pretty confusing to the audience to go from Trisha Yearwood to Elvis Costello, from Jimi Hendrix to Marta and the Vandellas. The name came about because we didn't take ourselves seriously and because the wild stylistic changes were so from left field. Well, one show lead to another and the name just sort of stuck. While it's not a great name, it is certainly unique and memorable so we continue to run with it. While our style has changed over the years to what is now known as the "snarky sound", the name remains. That's our story and we are sticking to it.
