Smith Dobson

Smith Dobson V's Dad was a great jazz man. His mother and sister are great jazz women. And, he is no slouch himself, excelling on the vibraphone and drums, but most of all on the saxophone. The legacy player blows soft solos that flicker with the calm intensity of a lit candle. His progressions sprint, jog, and catch their breath as they run around the toe-tapping tracks laid down by his supporting cast. Dobson IV died in a tragic car accident, but his son's effortless prowess is making sure the family name keeps its hallowed place on the Bay Area's jazz pedestal.
