The 63rd Annual Sausalito Art Festival, one of the oldest and most prestigious art events in the country, will take place Saturday through Monday, September 5th – 7th. Fine art, music, food, and wine come together every year along the scenic Sausalito Waterfront during this premier art festival attracting art aficionados and collectors from around the world. The Sausalito Art Festival features two stages with continuous live music and headline performers, over 260 artists, premium California wines, a beer garden, and a children’s entertainment area. The 2015 entertainment lineup will please all types of tastes in music starting with jam band sounds, rock, Dixieland and gypsy jazz, then on to popular tribute bands, and ending the weekend with reggae legend Jimmy Cliff and dance party favorites Wonder Bread 5.
The festival kicks off with the 50th Anniversary Performance Celebration of Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead and the San Francisco Sound. Grateful Dead audio engineer Jeff Healy will MC and open the festivities on Saturday, September 5th.
The anticipated opening night GALA: Studio 63 Boogie the Night Away takes place Friday, September 4th and benefits the Foundation’s year-round educational program, Artists Teaching Art (tickets available starting August 3rd). Festival tickets are now available for purchase through Sausalito Art Festival website and are also sold onsite during the Festival. Hands On activities will be provided by Call of the Sea, Educational Tallship of SF Bay, and Aquarium of the Bay. Children can also enjoy face painting from11:00am-5:00pm each day of the festival sponsored by the Bay Model.

FESTIVAL HISTORY

More than 260 award-winning artists from around the country and some 30,000 patrons flock to the waterfront village of Sausalito, California, on Labor Day weekend each year for the annual Sausalito Art Festival. Now in its 63rd year, the Sausalito Art Festival is one of the country’s premiere art events that attracts patrons because of its world class art, celebrated entertainment lineup, special exhibitions and a cornucopia of gourmet food, wine, beer and specialty beverages. Participating artists are selected by a rigorous jury process and exhibit a range of work, including painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, glass, fiber and fashion, wood, photography, mixed media and more.
The Festival is produced by the nonprofit Sausalito Art Festival Foundation, which supports year-round activities along with the annual Festival. Proceeds from the Festival support the local arts community as student scholarships, grants to non-profit arts organizations and community programs. Each year, some 1,000 community volunteers help keep the Festival running smoothly.
