Join us on Saturday, September 30th from 1:15-3:30 PM to explore the unique intertidal ecosystem of Aquatic Park Cove during low-tide. Many people have walked along our beach, but few have looked beneath the adjacent rocks to see the wildlife hidden in our harbor. The purpose of this "BioBlitz" event is for volunteers to complete a species count using iNaturalist, an app and website developed by the California Academy of Sciences that enables citizen scientists to record valuable biodiversity data. Meet staff under the large clock, at the rear of the Maritime Museum. We will gather at 1:15pm, have the iNaturalist tutorial indoors starting at 1:30pm, and then head out to begin making observations during low tide. Bring your smartphone (download iNaturalist app first) or camera, prepare to get your feet wet, and be ready for uneven terrain. Note: Admission to the park on National Public Lands Day (9/30) is free for everyone!
