East Bay varsity punks Just Friends had a very successful inaugural Sadfest in Fremont last year, but this year's edition is a significant step up. Taking place over two nights in San Jose, Sadfest features California bands such as San Francisco's Tommy Boys, Orange County's Melted, and Corona's Karoshi Boy, as well as local punk bands such as Get Married, The Albert Square, Yulia and Koi, the latter of which is releasing their first EP on Sunday night. The highlight of the weekend, however, should be Just Friends themselves, as they bring their energetic, brass-laced pop punk to the Rock Shop, promising a party like no other.
