Rockin' the River--Community Concerts at the Guerneville Plaza is a high octane concert series at the historic Guerneville Plaza in the heart of the Russian River Resort area.
A family-friendly, dancin'-in-the-street party, Rockin' the River kicks off at 6pm on Thursday, June 19th with Pride & Joy, the ever-popular Electric Pop/Soul Show Band, and runs every other Thursday through September 11th when Petty Theft, with their wildly acclaimed tribute to Tom Petty, closes out the season. The five shows in between--Commander Cody, the Poyntlyss Sistars, David Laflamme, Brothers of Siren and Volker Strifler--are some of Sonoma County, the Bay and beyond's most entertaining headliners; and are sure to bring you to your feet.
The wonderful Russian River Farmers' Market shares the plaza on concert days and runs every Thursday, May through September from 3pm to 7pm. New this year is an expanded art fair and concert night specials at many area restaurants. The Rockin' the River Series delights locals and visitors alike as concert goers celebrate great music, a beautiful corner of the world and each other.
The brick plaza at Guerneville's town center makes for a quaint and picturesque concert venue. The plaza lies at the base of Guerneville's circa 1922 metal truss walking bridge and is adjacent to Guerneville River Park and a short stroll to Main Street shops and Johnson's Beach. Exuding small town charm, Guerneville is well known for its natural beauty, laid-back attitude, friendly population, good restaurants and proximity to wine-tasting, redwood forests and the spectacular Sonoma Coast.
Special thanks to the Russian River Recreation and Park District for taking a lead role in making "Rockin' the River" possible. And many, many thanks to all of our sponsors and friends of the series. It truly takes a village.
Mark your calendar, grab your friends and family, and come on down!
