Lil' Elephant is an unconventional Oakland ensemble bringing original tunes to stages of all sizes throughout the Bay Area.
A labor of love several years in the making, this band of four motley miscreants fuses funk, rock, roll, rap, and classical influences into an exceptional and eclectic musical shmorgasboard. Major influences include The Doors, Funkadelic, In Flames, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
You’ll find your feet tapping and your hips swaying before you know it."
The Gentlemen Amateurs:
The Gents retain an organic musical aesthetic and a dogged do-it-yourself work ethic, opting for sweat and grit over the smoke and mirrors of modern production. Their songs are bright and upbeat, with soul-inflected hooks, tight grooves, and snappy brass. They have the raw energy of rock, the sweetness of soul, and the sophistication of jazz, all drizzled over a bed of funk. Fronted by the disarmingly talented Sam Jackson, the Gents present a sound that is fresh, funky, and frayed around the edges.
Big Sticky Mess:
Big Sticky Mess traveled lightyears at rocketing speeds to Earth in search of you. Now, as if shot out of a cannon through the heart of a rainbow, the Mess is here bringing a kaleidoscopic mix of extraterrestrial hooks, vibrant grooves and potent beats, purely for your entertainment. Close your eyes and hear the funky jams reminiscent of decades past with a sound much larger than the three piece arrangement before you should allow. So slip another drop under your tongue and join the inter-planetary groove train that is the Big Sticky Mess.
