NVO, Xuxa Santamaria, Sisters, and Pat Restaino at the Independent SF

On Saturday July 18th at 8:30pm, live electronica trio NVO invites you on a musical journey through space, time and cultures: Another Planet Entertainment presents NVO, XUXA SANTAMARIA, and SISTERS at The Independent in San Francisco.
The San Francisco-based trio NVO takes the organic path to the creation of their grooves before completely dissecting and reconstructing it all with the freshest tech. The resulting fusion of bass heavy rock, sci-fi funk, and rave-hop epitomizes their sound as they strive to rock you into space. They have earned a dedicated following from both ravers and rockers alike with their highly danceable live performances.
Also on the journey is Oakland’s XUXA SANTAMARIA, a bi-lingual dance punk art project whose latest release BILLIONAIR RAINBOW has gotten mad love on the blogosphere and on the dance floor. They channel JRPGs, The Stooges and the darkest of vibes.
Seattle-based duo SISTERS has rapidly earned the status as the new band to watch in Seattle. They create a two-piece “orchestra of sound” that leaves audiences in disbelief that a sonic landscape so vast is coming from only two people. Currently making the rounds on the summer festival circuit with performances at Sasquatch and Bumbershoot, SISTERS wins over crowds and critics alike with their unique brand of indie synth pop.
All three bands are recent graduates of the Zoo Labs music residency program, an Oakland-based non profit that is part recording studio, part startup incubator.
“As alumni of the Zoo Labs residency program for musicians, we are all dedicated to creating a deep relationship with our music to our audience.” says Chuck Jones of NVO. The Zoo Labs experience radically shifted our approach in a very positive way. The program has helped all of its participants take their art to the next level and be the best musicians and artists they can be. We’re excited to be part of the Zoo Labs community and share it with the larger Bay Area community with this show.”

DJ support for the evening will be provided by LA phenom Pat Restaino. Projection mapping and live visuals will be handled by the always innovative All Of It Now VJs.
