Learn how to turn your art into music!
Graphic notation is the representation of music using non-traditional symbols, illustrations, photographs and objects. So visually exquisite, some graphic scores can be works of art in and of themselves.
In this workshop, Bay Area composer, improviser and sound artist Wayne Grim will teach you how to map musical parameters to visual sources. You don’t need to know anything about composition or music to participate.
Class fee includes a Graphic Notation Kit and ticket to the Maps to the Stars Ensemble performance on May 27th. Scores created in this class may be performed either in-class or at the performance.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to learn how to make your art playable by musicians.
