MTT Conducts Mahler's Ninth Symphony

SEE EVENT DETAILS
By 1909, when Mahler penned his Ninth Symphony, he had tragically lost his four-year-old daughter and learned of the heart ailment that would contribute to his own death two years later. The last symphony he completed, the Ninth is one of the composer’s greatest symphonic and life achievements, a work that secured Mahler’s musical immortality. It was with this music that Michael Tilson Thomas began his storied SFS career in 1974.
