Appearing in Berkeley for the first time in over 115 years, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will appear one night only as part of their Classic Coast Tour. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, a 360-member volunteer chorus of men and women, has given voice to the hopes, joys, trials, and triumphs of people around the world for over 150 years. Often called "America's Choir," it has performed at World's Fairs and expositions, at the inaugurations of seven U.S. presidents, in acclaimed concert halls in 28 countries, on TV broadcasts, and on YouTube and Facebook. 65 members of the all-volunteer Orchestra at Temple Square which since 1999 has accompanied the Choir on recordings, broadcasts, and tours will join the Choir on this concert. The program will be drawn from its vast repertoire which ranges from choral masterworks to inspirational music from around the world to American folk hymns and spirituals. The concert will be directed by Mack Wilberg and Ryan Murphy
