Montclair Village Art Walk

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Montclair Village Art Walk is in its 48th year and celebrates art in the outdoors when more than 50 artists from the Bay Area and beyond will be displaying their wares along the sidewalks and against the scenic backdrop of Montclair Village and the Oakland Hills. Presented by the Montclair Village Association, this free event is set to take place Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Enjoy this open-air art gallery and shop for gifts for yourself, someone special or for your office collection. A special addition to the event on Saturday is Picnic on the Plaza from 1-4pm. Grab some food from the local restaurants and enjoy Rustwood Revival performing from 12:30-3:30pm, Oakland Fire Department's Random Acts Parade Rig for the kids, and free face painting by Lily's Arte. Visit on Sunday and in addition to leaving with new art treasures, take home fresh produce and delectables from La Salle's wonderful farmer's market stalls from 9am-1pm. Among the celebrated artisans participating in this year's event:

Megan Brown, Megan Brown Ceramics
Megan creates functional and modern ceramic tableware, home décor, and jewelry. As a California native, she draws inspiration from the ever-changing natural beauty around her. "Each piece that I create is one of a kind and thoughtfully designed to be both visually striking and satisfying to hold," she says. From hand-painted and carved patterns, to meticulously applied tape designs, Megan focuses on crafting textures that invite touch and elevate the everyday.
Swann Freslon, Swann Paints
As a mixed-media abstract artist, Swann is influenced by the colors and energy of her life and the life around her: nature, family, her life of travels and the people she meets, the countries she has lived in and the ones she's visited. "Through my abstract art, I aim to explore the process of letting go--of releasing both my own emotions and those of the viewer," says Swann. "My goal is to create pieces that resonate deeply, evoking feelings that may be hard to articulate but are profoundly felt. In other words, I am using the power of colors to mesmerize the soul."
Jeannie Haydon, Jeannie Haydon Creative Jewelry
Jeannie has had a passion for jewelry and metals since she was a 12-year-old girl making necklaces. "I create mixed metal jewelry and sculpture that is inspired by the world around me. I love texture and innovative design and incorporate those facets into my work. I like to collect odd and common objects for mixed media sculpture," she says. Jeannie enjoys picking pieces up off the street and using her creativity to create something new. She uses all of the techniques and knowledge acquired in 30+ years of making jewelry and sculpture for a living. The result is high quality sculptural jewelry pieces that you can wear forever.

Galit Perez, Cartera
Galit meticulously designs and creates handcrafted leather bags, starting with a cardboard blueprint. She carefully selects the perfect leather, considering thickness and color, then skillfully cuts and sews each piece. The final touch? Embossing her logo for a unique, polished finish. "The leather bags are charming and practical, crafted to seamlessly transition from professional to casual settings," she says.
