Mambo Caribe works with a wonderfully rich array of textures and colors, melding together all of it’s musical elements for a delightfully distinct Bay Area flavor. Guitarist/composer Ray Obiedo formed Mambo Caribe in 2002 to further explore his love of Latin music. His compositions for the group are drawn from many musical influences, including mainstream Jazz, Brazilian, Afro/Funk, and Caribbean. Timbale great Pete Escovedo will join the ensemble.
