MCCLA proudly presents an evening of music, dance, poetry celebrating March Women’s History Month in it’s 12th edition.
First and foremost: We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights.
We are inviting everyone to this one night event celebration of the women’s month here at MCCLA, for the 13th year in a row.
Presenting:
THEATRE PLAY: “Mujeres en Luna Llenaâ€: Espectáculo Escénico que abraza el lado femenino que habita en todo ser humano, el ser interior. Dividido en las cuatro fases de la luna: Nueva, Creciente, Llena y Menguante. Cuatro formas de sentir, cuatro perspectivas, cuatro emociones que mezcladas con música nos llevan a viajar por ese mundo literario que es la poesÃa.
POETRY READING: Sara Marinelli is a writer, translator, and educator. Her stories appear in New American Writing, Blue Mesa Review, and many Italian publications. For her fiction, she was awarded residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, Byrdcliffe Art Colony, and BANFF Center for the Arts. Sara teaches Comparative Literature at the University of San Francisco and San Francisco State University. She is working on a novel about family grief, set in a superstitious and religious Naples.
8:30 - MUSIC PERFORMANCE: TrÃo Cambio, is a group born in the fight against evictions in la Mission. As believers in creation through change, their music is for justice.
