The Art of Metalsmithing for Jewelry Design
 You may be starting out for the first time, or feeling the need to move deeper into the creative world of wearable art or you just may feel the need for a brush up. There is an on-going workshop for you!
METALSMITHING 01 – Beginners Workshop. A 4-session workshop meeting 1x per week for 3 hour sessions. Class Meets: Tuesdays 6P - 9P         Cost: $200     Materials fee: $30 to the instructor
 The first session offers an understanding of how metals respond to heat and force with focus on soldering techniques and design concepts. Sessions 2-4: The process begins! Your own design takes form as you learn how to properly solder, saw, file, sand & polish by using your (and provided) tools at your personal studio bench. This in-depth workshop provides the basics of fabricated jewelry design as you work in sterling silver and further learn how to bezel set stones incorporated in your design.
The workshop is held in an artist studio at the largest artist colony in the United States - over 300 artists (Hunters Point Shipyard Artists). Your registration will serve as a pass allowing you entry to the secure non-public facility.

Note: If the date of the workshop is scheduled on a holiday (i.e., July 4th); the class will begin the following week (i.e., July 11th). But please be sure to register as scheduled.
Workshops are limted to 6 students. The minimum enrollment is 1 student. If class enrollment only meets the minimum enrollment, individual instruction will be offered at an increased book rate or tuition will stay the same but the number of hours each session or the number of days will be reduced. Registered students can cancel prior to attending the first session via Eventbrite (according to Eventbrite's policy). For cancellations after attending the first workshop session - the full registration fee will not be returned. Rescheduling is at the discretion of the instructor.
