The Emerald Tablet hosts a special jazz evening featuring Epicenter, with Jon Herbst on piano, Bruce Mishkit on woodwinds, Greg Reginato on guitar, Andy Dillard on drums, and Terry Miller on bass.
Epicenter has just finished recording their second CD, “In Search of Blue”, which features ten original jazz compositions rooted in the bebop and post-bop tradition.
This event is part of The Emerald Tablet’s monthly collaboration with Jazz in the Neighborhood. The Bay Area is home to many incredible jazz musicians who’ve devoted their lives to developing their craft and attaining the highest artistic levels. Jazz in the Neighborhood is an important step towards creating an environment where these accomplished professionals can nurture a great American art form in dignity and respect, while delighting audiences of all ages.
The Emerald Tablet is proud to provide its resources, on a regular basis, to help this dream to become a reality. Please join us every second Friday and be part of a grassroots jazz revolution!
The evening will open up with a performance by two talented Oberlin Conservatory students, Julia Herbst (bass) and Leah Wollenberg (violin), playing a few blues-influenced jazz tunes.
