Izzy Cox is a one-woman-country-band - as in she alone plays the guitar, a bass drum and sings lead vocals. It's just enough instrumentation to pull off her barebones classic country/rockabilly jams. Her voice has the damaged beauty of an old Southern saloon singer, and her songs are sad and triumphant at once. There's some old timey flair on her recordings: a violin here, a banjo there, but on stage, it's just her and the instruments she can hold with her two hands (and feet), while she sings broken-hearted love songs and croons about living life on the run-all of which is made more poignant by the fact that she is standing alone on stage.
