On April 6, 2013, Bay Area soloists Hilary Hogan, Julia Skiff, and Paul Birge will join the White Horse Chorale to present In His Footsteps: A Musical Concert Celebrating the City’s Namesake, Saint Francis of Assisi. The soloists describe the concert as “a program of original songs inspired by Saint Francis’s enduring example of service, sacrifice, brotherhood, and goodwill.”
This unique concert premiered in October 2011, when the soloists traveled to Assisi, Italy to join people from around the globe to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the historic World Day of Prayer, an interfaith event honoring the world’s diverse faith streams and the universal message of Saint Francis. They will reprise their program at the National Shrine of Saint Francis of Assisi, in celebration of the deep connection between the legacy of Saint Francis and the city of San Francisco.
