If you knew your story could change the world, would you be willing to tell it?
Authors Heather Box and Julian Mocine-McQueen believe that everyone has a story to tell and that story has the power to influence others--family, friends, a community, or even the whole world. In "How Your Story Sets You Free", they explain why storytelling is the most powerful way there is to inspire others and build lasting connections, and they guide readers step by step through the process of uncovering and sharing their own authentic personal stories. Heather and Julian have worked with everyone from a Ugandan farmer they met at a UN conference to men in prison for life in Philadelphia to climate warriors in Tonga to the singer Sara Bareilles and the artist Swoon. Heather and Julian founded the Million Person Project in 2011, and have helped over 1,500 change-makers from 67 countries tell their stories. The San Francisco-based authors will read from their book and talk about their experiences helping people become leaders by telling their personal stories ... on Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 6 to 9 pm at the Oakland Main Library, 125 14th St., Oakland.
Join them for a night of story exploration and inspiration!
