Get ready to play with some hammering and stamping techniques! Students will be learning some basic metal smithing skills such as filing, hammering, stamping and light carving. We will start the class with demos and then students will be free to play with the new techniques learned while making three cuff bracelets. You will take home one thin brass cuff, one thin silver cuff, and one thick 6mm x 2mm cuff that is hand stamped and finished by you!
Diana O'Connor has been a practicing metalsmith and jeweler for 7 years, she graduated from California College of the Arts in 2013 with a BFA in Jewelry/ Metal Arts. She has worked with multiple jewelers in the Bay Area to produce their jewelry lines and train their production assistants. She is also designing and creating her own handmade jewelry as a resident artist in the Rare Bird Makers' Studio.
