San Francisco Restaurants Open for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving at home can be a challenge for a variety of reasons. For those hoping to skip the hassle of preparing a holiday meal, several San Francisco restaurants are open for Thanksgiving and up to the task.

Tommy’s Joynt
1101 GEARY BLVD.
San Francisco’s staple for cafeteria style comfort food, Tommy’s Joynt draws big crowds for Thanksgiving dinner. $9.75 can get any hungry diner a hearty meal with turkey, mashed potatoes or vegetables, beans or salad and bread and butter.

Le P’tit Laurent
699 CHENERY STREET
Le P’tit Laurent’s menu in Glen Park features a prix fixe menu for $39 with tradition dishes including roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, pumpkin pie and a complementary glass of champagne with dessert. The restaurant’s regular a la cart menu will also be available from 12pm to 8pm.

Chili House
726 CLEMENT STREET
A great option for those who aren’t into turkey or want to skip the carb-heavy holiday meal altogether, Chili House in the Richmond District offers an extensive menu of Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Malaysian dishes. Living up to its name, the spice is right with a variety of Sichuan options including beef with flaming chili oil and chicken with explosive chili pepper (pictured above).

Butterfly
PIER 33, THE EMBARCADERO
Chef Robert Lam will be preparing a four course dinner on Thanksgiving featuring unique dishes, such as a curried pumpkin soup, salt baked diestel turkey breast and ginger and cranberry relish. The restaurant also offers a spectacular view of the waterfront on the pier. Dinner is priced at $55 per person.

The Old Clam House
299 BAYSHORE BLVD.
Home to the oldest standing restaurant in San Francisco, The Old Clam House opened its doors in 1861 and is known for serving quality seafood and prime rib. Thanksgiving dinner will cost $35 and includes the restaurants famous clam chowder served with salad before turkey with gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry relish and pumpkin pie.

One Market Restaurant
1 MARKET STREET
Chef Mark Dommen and Pastry Chef Patti Dellamonica-Bauler will be creating a three-course meal with options including shrimp bisque, roasted willy bird turkey or spit roasted berkshire pork loin, and mushroom risotto. A triple layer sugar pie pumpkin cheesecake adds a decadent finish for the meal. Dinner is $67 per person and $29 for children ten and under.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House
1601 VAN NESS AVENUE
Located close to Civic Center, Ruth’s Chris Steak House offers a fixed menu including salad, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and dessert. The regular menu will also be available, including signature steaks and specialty entrees such as Caribbean lobster tail and lamb chops. The the Thanksgiving meal is priced at $39.95 for adults and $13.95 for children.

Burrit Room & Tavern at Mystic Hotel
417 STOCKTON STREET
Burrit Room & Tavern’s Chef Charlie Palmer will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with for a fixed price of $58 per person. The first course includes the option of county line beets and redwood hill goat cheese or a sunchoke and parsnip soup. Options for the main course include a fall spice brined turkey with sweet potato stuffing or niman ranch short ribs with smoked potato gnocchi, followed by pumpkin pie or banana pot de creme. The dinner will take place from 5pm to 9pm.

Palio d’Asti
640 SACRAMENTO STREET
Palio d’Asti will be serving a Thanksgiving dinner with an Italian twist with cottechino sausage and fontina cheese stuffing and pecan pie cannoli. The menu will feature a four-course menu with for $62 and children under 10 years old pay their age.

The Stinking Rose
325 COLUMBUS AVENUE
North Beach staple, the Stinking Rose offers a garlic inspired Thanksgiving menu at a fixed price of $34.95 for adults and $19.95 for children. The menu will start with bagna calda- garlic cloves roasted in extra virgin olive oil with a hint of anchovies and a house salad with garlic dressing. The main course includes 400 clove garlic-roasted turkey served with pan gravy, mashed yams, cranberry relish and stuffing. Dessert includes traditional pumpkin pie.

Urban Tavern
333 O’FARRELL STREET
San Francisco gastropub, Urban Tavern will be dishing out a family style feast prepared by Chef Colin Duggan. The meal includes a four-course menu with Turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, mushroom stuffing, roasted brussel sprouts with bacon and more. The meal is $40 for adults and $12 for children under age 12.
