On May 13th and 14th, Silicon Valley's venerable Japanese restaurant HIROSHI invites you into their coveted space to enjoy an exhibition of Glass Art Kuroki. Usually only sold in Japan, or at world-leading art auctions such as Christie's, this is a rare opportunity to purchase Japanese artist Kuniaki Kuroki's unique, and exceptional, glass art.
From 12-4pm attendees can view highlights of Kuroki's most recent works, along with beloved traditional pieces. Each item--from dinnerware to vases--is an expression of Japanese aesthetics in glass form.
Hailing from Miyazaki, Japan, artist Kuniaki Kuroki started glass forming at age 18. After enduring countless years of training, Kuroki was given the designation "National Contemporary Master Craftsman," the preeminent title an artist can achieve in Japan's art circle. Over the years, Kuroki has hosted exhibits in New York, Palm Beach and London, receiving such awards and prizes as: The International Arts and Culture Award (1994), the Rome Grand Prize at the Rome International Expo (1995), the Greek Government Prize at the Athens Art Expo (1998), the Asian Medal of Honor at the Asian Art Renaissance Exhibition in Bangkok (1999).
This event is open to the public. No ticket required for entry.
