Future Myth
Making their way into the Bay Area's indie rock scene, the five-piece San Jose natives, Future Myth, offer nostalgia-charged tunes that balance somber moments of longing with vibrant flashes of self-reflection. Released earlier this year in January, the band's debut EP, Flashbulb Memories, showcases their versatility both sonically and lyrically. Under The Gun Review describes the group as “drearily dreamy,” with comparisons to Real Estate, The Radio Dept, and Mac Demarco. With their distinctive, catchy melodies in addition to healthy doses of vocal harmonies and shimmering effects, Future Myth set out to produce an experience that's familiar, yet fresh and invigorating.
UT Kirin
UT Kirin is the bedroom recording project of HR Huber-Rodriguez, writing detailed and intensely personal psychedelic songs about college, drugs, technology, politics and millennial culture, all back-dropped by Northern California. Their first album, the charmingly lo-fi 'SF Is Fine' is a concept about leading jaded life in the bay area, while the followup, 'Wry Side of Paradise', sees Huber-Rodriguez retrace his undergraduate years in a concept album that moves along at one song per semester. Incorporating the lo-fi stylings of the Mountain Goats and Car Seat Headrest, UT Kirin sounds bigger and more unpredictable on every subsequent release, demonstrated most poignantly in the band's newest single, 'Daughter of the Hadhramaut,' which The Bay Bridged called 'weird, yet catch and endearing.' After picking up members of bay area veterans Future Myth, UT Kirin is poised to take their bedroom rock origins into raucous live setting.
500 three ways
500 three ways are a collective of canines who like to keep it greasey on the freaky side. They stay true to the old school truckercore that once lit up this nation before people started listening to crisco, rhythm and snooze, and sock music. They'll ruff you up.
