South County visual artist Carol Bowie presents “Miles to Mingus†paintings expressed, inspired and fueled by listening to and living with this music dubbed “jazz.†Bowie describes her work as, “guided by her desire to become a conduit for what wants to be expressed.†An Open Studio artist for more than two decades, Bowie’s work can also be found in private and corporate collections locally, nationally and abroad. DJ Vinnie will add to the revelries by spinning classic vinyl from the artists on display, plus hip music from Blue Note and Impulse Records from the 60s and 70s. The KJ café and beverage bar will be open, so join us for another funky and festive First Friday!
