Join us for the world premiere of John Anthony Lennon’s Poems from the Singing Wall, featuring our incredible soprano soloist, Amy Foote.
Lennon writes that "The five songs are inspired by the poetry and voice of Swiss artist Jeanine Osborne. The theme of the collection is the Singing Wall, the point of passage between earth and heaven. The songs are several minutes in length, each with a different mood and character. we race is a frantic nightmare. seraph offers an aria about heaven. butterfly is about a big joyous fluttering bug. darkness descends into the eerie and haunted. The prima donna brings out the diva and her sharp wit."
The night will also feature:
A high energy concert opener from Composer-In-Residence Danny Clay.
Bohuslav Martinu's Nonet: This rarely-performed gem is a lush work that draws upon the composers Czech heritage
Samuel Barber's woodwind quintet masterpiece, Summer Music.
