DYSTOPIA: Batería y Bajo Cinco de Mayo Celebracion

Take back your freedoms and join us for our Drum and Bass monthly right here in the East Bay – Dystopia DNB, in the heart of Oakland, California. Come get 'baptized' to the sounds of Drum & Bass champions from all over the sprawl and indoctrinated by the verses of our MC's!
MAY equals GREAT talent that we are pleased to welcome for our special Cinco de Mayo—or the fifth of May—commemorating the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867).
Additionally, we would like to mention truly, history has a lot to teach us about the roots of our radicalism. When we remember that people were shot so we could have the 8-hour day; if we acknowledge that homes with families in them were burned to the ground so we could have Saturday as part of the weekend; when we recall 8-year old victims of industrial accidents who marched in the streets protesting working conditions and child labor only to be beat down by the police and company thugs, we understand that our current condition cannot be taken for granted - people fought for the rights and dignities we enjoy today, and there is still a lot more to fight for. The sacrifices of so many people cannot be forgotten or we'll end up fighting for those same gains all over again. This is why we celebrate and commemorate “May Day.”

Flaco is a drum & bass producer/dj born and raised in Florida, US. Since 1998 he has been writing music on a computer using various programs and learning how to sequence beats and has always appreciated a wide range of music. Flaco was raised listening to a lot of his father’s vinyl. In 2006 he had 3 tracks reviewed in the unsigned artist section of Knowledge Magazine, a drum & bass music magazine from the UK. Then in 2008 he started a radio show with Bassdrive.com a streaming audio site that has djs from all over the world playing 24 hours a day, and has been getting much support from many of the djs that play there as well. The future holds much in store for Flaco with forthcoming music on labels such as V Records, Innerground, and Co-Lab to name just a few. Be on the lookout for new music solo and collaborative, as Flaco is constantly improving his sounds.
