Just as the Wu Tang Clan was a fierce rap band that happen to have an obsession with Kung Fu movies, Drunken Starfighter is a transcendental, soulful reggae group that just so happens to have a fixation with scifi pop culture. The group has a particular flavor of reggae like the mellow, spiritual sound from the late 70s (and a bit of early 80s dub). Starfighter has jams that are the real deal. Pure, untarnished, heartfelt reggae grooves, back before drum machines and obnoxious keyboards took over.
