D-Lo Live @ Club Anton

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Club Anton (see times)
D-Lo will be taking over Club Anton
Along with special invited guest Draztic Music.

Bio: Two years ago, based out of a home studio at their mother’s house in Modesto, CA, brothers D-Lo and Sleepy D, figured out the perfect formula for a prototypical Bay Area rap hit. Start off with a thumping bass, a handclap, a minimal melody and no bass line. On vocals add some Too $hort pimp attitude with a Keak Da Sneak gruff delivery, sprinkled with a hurried cadence and you have the hit "No Hoe." It’s a tune that resonates in the community, and by community I mean, as D-Lo puts it, “they auntie, or cousin or niece or somebody… they know it, fa sho!”

Over the past year, the duo’s independently released singles have been ripped off MySpace, passed around by DJ’s, and spread by fans through the streets like a California wildfire, breaking the corporate force field surrounding commercial radio. Two weeks after making No Hoe, D-Lo went to jail. At that time, younger brother Sleepy was on the outside pushing his brother’s song on CD-R’s. "No Hoe" blew up. Sleepy says, “I was hella mad…I wanted to get on that thing,” but adds, “if it was really like a grind…it was the streets that did it…”

D-Lo has a vision and a drive rare for most 20 year olds. After hooking up with independent label PTB (Pushing the Beat), D-Lo’s popularity has skyrocketed with the recent release of the compilation The Tonight Show Featuring D-Lo (produced by DJ Fresh). The song No Hoe has become an anthem everywhere – so popular that legendary rapper Snoop Dogg got a hold of the instrumental and recorded his own remix version.

D-Lo is now poised to do a full Cali take over, since L.A. has been producing its own version of the Bay sound. D-Lo speaks excitedly about his popularity amongst L.A.’s “Jerkin” set, and sees local Turf dancers picking up on L.A.’s influence. With the upcoming release of his first solo album, D-Lo is on his way to becoming an internationally known and globally accepted brand. You already know though.

21 and up only please, strict dress code, and sorry no refunds.
