As an ode to the two most important pieces of furniture in the house (or for some particularly grungy punk rockers-the only two) local punk rock supergroup Complaint Box titled their debut album Microwave Oven and Chair. The power-punk quartet, who will be celebrating their CD release party this Friday, consists of longtime local players Dover Dunder (Joe Q Citizen, Whiskey Sunday), Dave Miller (Odd Numbers, Talky Tina), Julian Ostrow (Joe Q Citizen), and Flint Smith (Exhale the Vile). Complaint Box writes songs that are short, fast and ultra-catchy (with only a few clocking in at over two minutes). They cut the crap and go to work with growly vocals, chugging guitars, melodic bass lines and a lot of love for old school punk rock. (Stephen Layton)
