If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our latest exhibit: Chinese in the Sunset. In the last two months we have rolled out a series of events surrounding the exhibit’s debut, including: a dance performance of “Within these Walls,” a mural series in both chalk and acrylic mediums, and several speeches and performances by local politicians, community leaders, and advocates. All of these events have created interest for the exhibit, but are also relative to its content. Chinese in the Sunset is a collection of the stories, struggles, and feats of Chinese Americans in one of the largest and most lively neighborhoods of historic San Francisco. We have done our best to represent those families and their stories through the exhibit, and the programs accompanying it. Right now, you can visit this exhibit for FREE on the third floor at San Francisco’s main library located on 100 Larkin Street. On January 8th we will host a reception for the exhibit at that location, complete with bites & beverages, as well as a guided tour by CHSA’s Gallery Coordinator, Palma You. This event will be from 1-3 PM, and free of charge. We look forward to sharing with you.
