Cheetah Chrome is a punk rock legend. That may sound like a hyperbole, but it's not. He played guitar for first wave punk band the Dead Boys who started in 1976. Before that he was in proto-punk band Rocket From the Tombs. Since his days with the Dead Boys he's been pretty quiet. Last year, he put out his first solo release ever, which was aptly titled Solo. It's comprised of previously unreleased songs he recorded in 1996 and in 2010. It's a country-tinged power-pop EP with a healthy dose of punk rock grit. Also on the bill are SoCal '90s garage-punks the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs, who reunited this year after breaking up twelve years ago. (Aaron Carnes)
